Thermo King continues to innovate in the digital space to help customers manage their refrigerated fleets efficiently and with greater visibility. Check out the latest Thermo King digital solutions and enhancements available as of Q2 2023.
Industry First! 3rd Generation TriPac® Auxiliary Power Unit with Telematics
Our newly launched 3rd Generation TriPac APU is the first in the refrigerated transportation industry to include telematics capabilities for an APU. Industry leading TracKing® telematics is now an available option on both 3rd generation models. Adding telematics provides the data needed to have a clear line of sight to the unit’s run hours, cabin temperatures, and fuel tax reporting. Real-time software updates, alarms and maintenance reminders help ensure the APU runs smoothly.
The 3rd generation TriPac APU also features an updated controller and in-cab digital user interface, providing a premium, modern driver experience. The new digital controller provides drivers with greater control over their comfort and APU operations with large cabin temperature readings, function icons and toggling menus.
New e1000 All-Electric Reefer for Trucks with Built-in Telematics
Part of Thermo King’s evolve™ portfolio, a brand representing our electric transport and refrigeration solutions, the e1000 is a large capacity fully electric reefer designed to help customers meet sustainability goals on their Class 5-7 trucks. To monitor performance and progress, Thermo King TracKing® telematics hardware has been built into the design and a complimentary four-year monitoring subscription comes with each unit – a nearly $600 subscription value.
This is the first time that Thermo King is including both the TracKing hardware and a free subscription as standard on one of its electric truck TRU models. TracKing telematics allow remote access to vital data, including readiness score and fleet performance dashboards, along with connectivity between the unit and the driver inside the cab.
Expanded geofence capabilities offer flexibility and increased monitoring options
Geofencing has been a mainstay within the transportation industry, providing a bird’s eye view of assets transitioning in and out of specified areas defined by virtual boundaries. Real-time monitoring with Thermo King TracKing® telematics offers valuable information to fleet managers, distribution centers and customers waiting for deliveries, needing to schedule equipment servicing, planning next shipments, and more. To meet changing customer needs, Thermo King has expanded its geofence capabilities by:
- Increasing the number of trackable geofences from 500 to 5,000, particularly valuable for large fleets.
- Expanding multipoint geofencing options from a maximum of 4 points to 15 points for more detailed zone monitoring, while also including single point geofence capability.
- Adding in bulk geofence importing, which eliminates time-consuming manual processes.
