Thermo King's TriPac™ APU Systems Now Available on Freightliner Trucks

(Minneapolis - March 19, 2009) - Thermo King Corporation and Freightliner Trucks are pleased to announce the availability of Thermo King's TriPac™ Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) as an option for Freightliner Cascadia™ models with DD15™ and Series 60® engines as well as Freightliner Century Class® S/T, Columbia®, and Coronado® models with Series 60 engines.

The TriPac hybrid auxiliary idle reduction and temperature management system saves money and lowers emissions by reducing idling and fuel consumption. The quiet, hybrid system provides cab power to keep drivers comfortable without running the tractor engine, saving on tractor maintenance costs as well.

The TriPac systems will be sold by Freightliner and be available as a factory-installed OEM option to customers. Thermo King dealers will provide service, warranty and parts support for the systems at over 200 locations nationwide.

"It's all about serving our customers," says Tom Kampf, APU product manager, Thermo King. "We're offering our customers the options and flexibility to choose how and when to install an APU system. Thermo King is committed to maintaining its leadership position in transport applications, and this agreement allows customers more choice in how they purchase their APU products."
