Bloomington, Minn., Sept. 30, 2013 —A typical line haul fleet can spend up to 50 percent of its time idling each year.
An expert from Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control solutions for a variety of mobile applications and brand of Ingersoll Rand, will discuss cost-effective ways to reduce idling time to save on fuel consumption and meet emission standards at the Green Fleet Conference, Oct. 1-2, at the Phoenix Convention Center, Phoenix.
Paul Barbaro, product manager of auxiliary power units for Thermo King , will participate in a panel discussion about reducing idling time at the conference. Given that every extra 10 percent of idle time equals another percentage point in fuel economy savings, attendees will learn strategies to reduce fleet idling, including the use of auxiliary power units, shore power and more.
